The public poll confirmed the opinion of technical and product experts from the Deutsche Telekom group. They had already selected ParkDots from a number of competing solutions in March as an official solution of Deutsche Telekom for the DT Europe region. As ParkDots is developed by PosAm, it took over the role of domain expert of the Deutsche Telekom group in smart parking.
“It is a great appreciation of our work that not only Deutsche Telekom specialists but also members of public welcome the great features, ease-of-use and clarity of our solution. We have dedicated much effort in its development and we believe ParkDots is able to win its way not only in Slovakia but also abroad,” said Michal Bróska, PosAm’s Product Director. “Currently, ParkDots is used by residents and municipalities in Trnava, Trenčín, Liptovský Mikuláš and Bratislava, and we are in talks with other cities in Slovakia. There are also a number of foreign entities interested in it”, Martin Budaj, PosAm’s Product Manager, added.
ParkDots combines the latest mobile, cloud and IoT technologies. In addition to payments for parking, it offers searches for free parking spaces as close as possible to a point of interest, and navigation to that place. However, that is not all it can do. The driver can then be navigated back to their car and they can receive alerts when the vehicle leaves the parking space unexpectedly, and, of course, can extend the parking time remotely.
The key elements of the ParkDots solution include a mobile app for users and a central control system located in a cloud. The entire solution can be complemented by unobtrusive sensors in the pavement, which send real-time information about the availability of a particular parking spot. The platform is able to tackle not only parking in the streets (on-street), but also in other locations (off-street), and effectively interconnect multiple systems into a single smart solution.
