Commander Services has acquired a strong strategic partner

Connecting cars to the Internet will become common in the near future. It will bring far-reaching changes which private vehicle owners as well as companies with their own fleets will benefit from. The latter can now use vehicle-data-based advantages provided to them by Commander Services. Over the course of several years the company has worked its way up to become a Slovak leader in the vehicle monitoring segment with a market share amounting to 30%. Thanks to its development ambitions the company has found a strong strategic partner.

“I am really glad that I may inform our customers, partners and employees of such great news. We have gained access to knowledge, resources and possibilities which will help us achieve our development goals. The most important factor is that we can provide even better services to our customers. Thanks to our partnership with PosAm and membership in the Deutsche Telekom group we are looking to the future with great enthusiasm,” said Michal Vodička, the CEO of Commander Services.

Having developed an IoT-based smart parking solution, PosAm is entering the Connected Car market

The Connected Car phenomenon will have a significant impact on cars and on what services they should provide. Providing cars with an Internet connection will increase the comfort of travelling, bring more fun and enhance safety. Moreover, assistance provided in emergency situations may be faster and more accessible. Car data processing will simplify and increase the efficiency of car use. It will enable consumption to be optimized and the price of car repair services decreased. Owners and managers will also obtain important information and data about car use.

Marián Marek, the CEO of PosAm: “We at PosAm have, for a long time, been carefully watching and analysing trends in the Connected Car area and we have decided to become a part of them. The agreement we have entered into is an important step for performing our long-term strategic intentions. We highly respect what the Commander Services team has managed to achieve in this area in such a short time thanks to its pugnaciousness, dedication and creativity. I believe that we may contribute to its further growth with our 20-year-long experience in the area of software development.”

Slovakia need not be a leader only in car manufacturing but also in services based on car data

Deutsche Telekom, as the largest European telecommunication company and a leader in technology, has the pre-requisites to set the trend and to be a key part of the ecosystem which is emerging around the Connected Car.

“The DT group systematically looks for opportunities in IoT which will enable it to move from being a connection provider to services with a higher added value. The acquisition of Commander Services means performance of the mandate which Slovak Telekom and T-Mobile in the Czech Republic have received from Deutsche Telekom for establishing a competence centre for the Connected Car area,” Otakar Mráz, Senior Manager for Deutsche Telekom Connected Car Hub at T-Mobile added regarding the transaction.
