ParkDots now helps with parking also in Bratislava

Karlova Ves, as the first Bratislava city district, has started to use ParkDots, a smart parking solution made by PosAm. Within the pilot project, the first parking sensors were placed near the Central department store on Borská Street. From the variety of functions that the platform offers, the self-government is focused on increasing the utilization of parking spaces designated for short-term parking and on improving driver discipline.

For this purpose, IoT sensors were installed into the pavement of individual parking spaces that constantly evaluate whether the space is free or occupied or how long a vehicle is parked in the given space. The sensors send the data in real time into the central system. The information is subsequently utilized by drivers, local government, and city police.

Drivers can check current availability through a mobile application or a website. If necessary, they can navigate to the parking space. Using the administrative application the local government receives statistical data that will enable them to better understand driver behaviour and to adopt measures which will allow better utilization of available spaces and prevent their abuse for long-term parking. In cooperation with the city police, the information can be used for enforcement of set parking policies.

After Trnava, Trenčín and Liptovský Mikuláš, Karlova Ves was added to the number of locations where the ParkDots smart system helps cities improve their parking situation. More cities will join them soon. “We are registering great interest in ParkDots in Slovakia and abroad. In terms of functionality, usability, and price, it is a very interesting solution for many cities as well as private companies that operate car parks,” says Martin Budaj, Product Manager at PosAm. “The quality of our solution is affirmed by the fact that it has become an official product of the Deutsche Telekom Group for smart parking for the DT Europe region,” added Michal Bróska, Director of Product Development at PosAm.

ParkDots is a combination of state-of-the-art mobile, cloud, and IoT technologies. In addition to parking payments, it also offers rivers the possibility to locate a vacant parking space closest to the point of interest and navigate to it.
