Head of the Information and Communication Technology Section of Východoslovenská energetika Košice (VSE) Juraj Sabol and Product manager of PosAm, Juraj Pavol, contributed with a talk on the topic Management of service technicians in practice. They shared their experiences with the participants, gained from the installation and operation of a system that was implemented by PosAm and which VSE put into productive operation in January this year. They underlined the practical benefits of using mobility as part of service activities while putting forward the “pros and cons” of implementing Workforce management in practice.
The role of the EWOlution system (Electronic Work Orders), the basis of which comprises the solution PosAm Servio, is to manage, plan and evaluate the work of service technicians performing the reading, inspection and replacement of electricity meters as part of the distribution network of VSE. Implementation of the system gave VSE the perfect tool for assigning the right workers to appropriate work, at the right time, so that they in return give an optimum output. The result is increased work effectiveness and a higher standard of services.
The key factors that made these results attainable are the automation of activities, tight integration with several company systems (distribution system, accounting system, attendance system, GPS etc.) and full digitalisation of the entire process (work orders, recording results, reports, the signing of work orders, reading data from meters), which deletes the need for paper.
The outcome of this is a marked acceleration of the planning process (by 70%), a perfect overview of the activities of workers in real time, simplification of the work of people in the field, far better provision of information to customers, thorough monitoring of materials, minimisation of failures caused by the human factor and a shorter time for resolving customer requests. PosAm workforce management systém zmenil zložitý papierový proces vybavovania pracovných príkazov na automatizovaný a elektronický postup. Plánovanie prác, prerozdeľovanie pracovných príkazov, zaznamenávanie údajov, prenos dát do centrálnych systémov, všetko prebieha v elektronickej podobe.
