On 7 – 12 June, a total of 126 cyclists in 23 teams from 15 countries will battle for victory in the international cycling stage race Tour of Slovakia. They will compete in five stages covering 806 km, including 15 intermediate sprints and 17 categorized climbs.

The oldest cycling race in Slovakia has an unparalleled atmosphere, which is enjoyed by residents of the 120 or so towns and villages that the tour passes through. The race routes are all planned to take in unique localities in our country, with the focus this year on spas and recreational areas.

In addition to promoting Slovakia and the positives of sport for health and a healthy lifestyle, the aim of the event organisers is to develop values in the spirit of teamwork and fair play. We regard these values as crucial also when developing PosAm, a company that despite being one of the most successful and biggest in Slovakia, still possesses an air of humanness.

Race history

The first year of the race took place on 19 June 1954 in Bratislava and had seven stages. At that time, 78 cyclists took part, all from former Czechoslovakia. Cyclists from abroad first took part in the Tour of Slovakia in 1956. The pride and prestige of the race now makes it a quality peleton. More recently, an average of 22 teams from 23 countries take part in this international event.
