On the occasion of the National Quality Award (NQA) being awarded for 2013, on 11 November Bratislava was host to the 1st international conference “Quality on the path to excellence”. The conference programme included the opening of the Hall of Fame of the National Quality Award of the Slovak Republic, which is housed in the Constitutional Hall in the historical building of the National Council of the Slovak Republic. PosAm, as the winner of the 4th year of the National Quality Award competition from 2003, occupies its own reserved place in the Hall of Fame.
The National Quality Award of the Slovak Republic has been organised each year since 2000. In the course of its thirteen year history, a total of 27 organisations have had this prestigious award bestowed on them. The competition and the conference are both organised by the Slovak Office of Standards, Metrology and Testing (UNMS).
The conference comprising part of the presentation of the National Quality Award had the goal of demonstrating the EFQM Excellence Model as one of the ways for achieving excellence and a tool for being successfully competitive on the market. The many years of experience PosAm has in this area was evident from the presentation of our COO Milan Drobný and Pavol Šurín, director for IMS, on the topic “EFQM Excellence Model as a tool for increasing company performance”.
PosAm has been an active member of EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) since 2007 and in 2005 it received the award “Recognised for Excellence in Europe” in the European Quality Award organised by EFQM. PosAm was the first Slovak company ever to receive this distinguished award.
