According to the company Gartner, the majority of companies will partially or fully digitise as much as 60% of their processes by 2016. Naturally, this trend will affect also processes of brick-and-mortar outlets of institutions (banks, telecommunications operators, utilities and so on). The reason for this, among other things, is that the use of conventional branches is not declining despite the growth in the use of mobile devices, not even in the younger generations (source: IDC).
A part of many processes at counters, in fact, concerns serious expressions of intent of the customer in the form of their handwritten signature. For this process to be digitised and switched to a paper-free form, it is necessary to “convert” the handwritten signature of the customer into digital form and of a quality that guarantees its authenticity, and at the same time to link the signature to the document in digital form.
The currency of this trend is also confirmed by the survey of the company Gartner, which shows that 43% of banks that do not use the digital handwritten signature yet, are working on introducing it in the space of two to three years.
