Many years of successful cooperation with VSD acknowledged by a valuable award

If a customer expresses satisfaction following a project’s completion, it is a sign of good work. If many years of cooperation are followed by an award for reliability, quality, contribution and innovativeness, it is confirmation of the ability to serve as a stable supplier of useful solutions and services.

In recent years, PosAm has implemented several important infrastructure and software projects for Východoslovenská distribučná, a.s. (VSD). As far as infrastructure is concerned, there have been several stages of storage system consolidation based on Hitachi Vantara systems with PosAm being a leading company in Slovakia in their implementation. In terms of software development, we have completed several jobs, with key projects EWO, EWOR and EWO2 focusing on more efficient work planning and management of people in the field. A complicated paper process of handling work orders has changed to an automated electronic procedure. New systems are ensuring assignment of the right workers with suitable tools and knowledge for adequate work at the right time to ensure optimum performance. These results are based on the combination of IT expertise and domain knowledge about workforce management and the processes of energy-distributing companies.

I see the award for reliability and innovativeness, which I had the honour to receive, as an expression of thanks to the entire team of experts and specialists at PosAm for many years of their good work. At the same time, it is a challenge for the future to be able to meet and overcome the expectations of our partners at VSD,” said Milan Štiblický, Business Developer at PosAm upon receiving the award.

Already the first version of EWO (Electronic Work Order) in 2012 was seen by the customer as a revolutionary change that enabled the previous work system to be completely changed and have its efficiency fundamentally improved. “When it comes to implementation of work orders for electric operators, it was a huge step in the right direction,” Ing. Peter Kopčák, a head of the electricity measurement unit at VSD at that time described the implementation of the system. And he added what the point was: “In relation to work orders, we wanted improved performance, reduced costs and to forget about the old methods of approaching work. In particular, we wanted to eliminate paper work, ensure higher field work efficiency and better planning.” And how did PosAm meet the client’s expectations? As Mr. Kopčák said: “The system provides an infinite amount of data for managers, both for work planning and assessment of the work of every single worker, but also that of the work group and the system as a whole. All of these data serve one end which is optimization of processes. We put lots of effort into the project, but I have to say that it was worth it. It brought about a turning point in work management in the area of work orders.”

At VSD, other successful jobs followed this achievement. For example, the EWOR system has simplified the field work of meter readers. And this year we have successfully completed a project with the working title EWO2. Implementation of EWO2 has improved our initial EWO solution, improved and accelerated processing of work orders in the field, improved the user interface and, in particular, supported seamless transmission between mobile platforms. We chose the Android environment over Windows and, as a result, the customer could select from a much wider number of mobile devices that can be used with our solution.

These innovations also confirm the ability of PosAm to continuously bring our customers the highest added value and benefit, which was also confirmed by Martin Kolesár, expert in innovations and new technologies at VSD. “Regarding this cooperation I would like to highlight the team spirit and passion of the entire project team which contributed to the successful implementation of EWO2 in practice. In particular, I appreciate the transparency and service deliveries in the agreed volumes and deadlines. This project has been an excellent example of how a supplier and customer may cooperate beyond what is expected and thus bring to life a product that is one of our company’s most important systems.”
