Starting from March, drivers in Liptovský Mikuláš may use the ParkDots smart parking system which is already being used in Trnava and Trenčín. The system will enable them to pay parking fees comfortably from their cars or even remotely. Drivers will no longer need to look for coins or to go to parking ticket payment machines and back with their tickets, they just need the ParkDots mobile app and a payment card.
“The system may be used to pay at municipal parking places near Čierny orol, Katolícky dom and at the railway station,” said the town spokesperson, Viktória Čapčíková. “In addition to payment, the mobile app will also offer other functions. For example, you may look for a parking space around the place you want to go to and you will have a general view of parking places in the town which you will see on the maps”, she added. According to the spokesperson, parking fees are not going to change.
The whole payment process is very simple. The ParkDots app is available free of charge for both Android and iOS. After you have installed it and registered your vehicle registration plate and your payment card, you only need to select the parking place and the parking time. Your ticket is directly on your mobile phone. The app will also notify you when your parking ticket’s validity is about to expire and it will enable you to prolong the parking time remotely.
